About the Author

Alyssa Cooper is a Canadian author, poet and spoken word artist, currently living in Belleville Ontario with her partner, two cats, and a Boston Terrier.

First published in 2008, Alyssa is the author of two traditionally published novels — Salvation and Benjamin — and two poetry collections, Cold Breath of Life and Unlike Icarus. In 2014, she began to dabble in self-publishing, releasing a short story collection, Whispers, and a young adult series, The Witches of Armour Hill. Her work has been included in over fifty publications, including Postscripts to Darkness, The Ottawa Arts Review, and The Dalhousie Review. An active spoken word performer, Alyssa has performed at festivals, conferences, and special events from Gananoque to Toronto, including Kingston WritersFest and the Voices of Today festival. She believes in feminism, veganism, and the power of the Oxford comma.
